About this Event

The UNCCD secretariat is launching this training under the Women Delegates Fund ahead of COP17. The programme aims to strengthen women’s leadership and negotiation capacities within the UNCCD process.

Moreover, the training is designed to improve effective participation in negotiations and related multilateral environmental discussions. It also creates space for peer learning and engagement before COP17 begins.

Who Should Attend

This opportunity is open to women delegates from developing country Parties eligible under the UNCCD Special Trust Fund for Participation. Priority is given to Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

  • Governments from all Regional Implementation Annexes are invited to nominate one eligible woman delegate from their official COP17 delegation.
  • Applications must be submitted by National Focal Points.
  • Required documents include an official nomination letter.
  • A CV or short biography of the proposed delegate is also required.
