The MEST AI Startup Program is a fully funded, immersive experience designed to equip Africa’s most promising AI entrepreneurs with the technical, business, product, and leadership skills to build and scale globally competitive AI startups.
It includes:
- 7-month training phase with hands-on instruction, technical mentorship, and business coaching.
- 4-month incubation period to refine products, sharpen go-to-market strategies, and secure traction.
- Opportunity to pitch for pre-seed investment of up to $100,000 and join the MEST Portfolio.

- AI-powered startups across industries (health, fintech, logistics, education, agriculture, etc.).
- Founders with software development experience and interest in entrepreneurship.

Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be 21–35 years old.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent experience.
- Have software development experience and basic understanding of AI.
- Be citizens of West or East African countries.
- Be based in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, or Kenya (or able to travel there for interviews at own cost).
- Be fully committed for 12 months (training + incubation).
- Demonstrate entrepreneurial mindset, innovation, problem-solving, and readiness for startup intensity.
How are Candidates Selected?
- Based on technical ability, entrepreneurial drive, and innovative ideas.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited for in-person interviews in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, or Kenya.

- Other African countries: Eligible if able to travel to one of the core countries for interviews.
