About this Program
ICFJ+ is seeking journalists and content creators in the three eligible countries for an initiative focused on foundational learning. Specifically, the program aims to equip fellows with the knowledge, skills and networks needed to report on literacy and numeracy issues.
In addition, the fellowship emphasizes data-driven and solutions-oriented journalism. Fellows will work on stories that examine foundational literacy and numeracy in their countries.
Eligibility Criteria
- Journalists working for a news outlet based in Kenya, Senegal or South Africa are eligible to apply.
- Freelancers based in Kenya, Senegal or South Africa are eligible to apply.
- Content creators based in Kenya, Senegal or South Africa are eligible to apply.
- Social media influencers based in Kenya, Senegal or South Africa are eligible to apply.
- Applications are accepted in English and French.
- Experience covering education, social policy or development is preferred but not required.
