Open Global Power is the evolution of Open Africa Power and Open Brazil Power initiatives, providing a global platform for training, policy dialogue, and professional exchange in sustainable energy. It aims to prepare a new generation of energy professionals with the necessary skills for a just and inclusive energy transition. The 2026 edition features a global structure with territorial specialization, incorporating shared foundational content and specific learning paths through online modules and selective in-person experiences, collaborating with leading academic institutions from various countries.

The Open Global Power (OGP) Fellowship, launched by the Enel Foundation, is a global platform for advanced training, policy dialogue, and professional exchange in sustainable energy. It builds on the Open Africa Power and Open Brazil Power initiatives, now integrated into one program. The fellowship equips young professionals with technical, regulatory, and business skills to drive a just, inclusive, and innovation-led energy transition.

Who can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 24–35 years by April 13, 2026.
  • Be citizens of African countries, Brazil, or Chile.
  • Reside (or plan to relocate by end of 2026) in Africa, Brazil, or Chile.
  • Hold a PhD, MBA, or Master’s degree (Bachelor’s-only holders are not eligible).
  • Have at least one degree from a university in their country of citizenship.
  • Demonstrate interest and competence in pursuing a career in the energy and electricity sector.
  • Be fully proficient in English (CEFR C1 level).
  • Be eligible to travel to Italy.

Note: Women’s participation is strongly encouraged; the program ensures 50% of participants are women.

How are Candidates Selected?

  • Based on professional experience, academic background, motivation, and reference letters.
  • Up to 200 participants selected for online modules:
    • 100 from Africa
    • 60 from Brazil
    • 40 from Chile
  • Top performers (~10%) invited to the Final Residential Module in Italy.

Which Countries Are Eligible?

  • Africa (all countries), Brazil, Chile.

Where will the Fellowship be Taken?

  • Online modules (global and territorial).
  • Final in-person residential module in Italy for top performers.

How Many Awards?

  • 200 participants admitted to online modules.
  • ~10% (20 participants) selected for the residential module in Italy.

How Long Will the Fellowship Last?

  • Online modules: Foundational (4 weeks), Global Policy (4 months), Territorial (4 weeks).
  • Final residential module: 1 week in Italy (for top performers).
