The MEXT Scholarship for 2027 Embassy Recommendation is open to applicants for Specialized Training College study in Japan. Recruitment for those arriving in Japan next April is made between April and May of the previous year. First screening is then conducted between May and August by Japanese Embassies or Consulates General.


If you want to apply, you must submit your application through the Japanese embassy or consulate general in your country of nationality. Do not send application documents directly to MEXT in Japan.

The MEXT Specialized Training College Scholarship provides international students with the opportunity to pursue postsecondary professional education in Japan. It includes one year of intensive preparatory education (Japanese language, Japanese affairs, and related subjects), followed by two years of specialized training college study.

  • Be able to arrive in Japan between April 1–7, 2027.
