The Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS) is offered by the University of Amsterdam (UvA) to attract outstanding non‑EU/EEA students into its international classrooms. For the academic year 2026–2027, the scholarship provides €25,900 to support excellent students enrolling in selected LLM Master’s programmes at the Amsterdam Law School.

Which Fields are Eligible?

The AMS is available for applicants admitted to:

  • International and European Law
  • Transnational and European Private Law
  • Law & Finance
  • International Criminal Law

  • Hold a non‑EU/EEA passport.

  • Comply with Dutch visa regulations.
  • Enrol as a full‑time student for the academic year.
  • Belong to the top tier academically (excellent students).

  4. If applying for both AMS and Mr Julia Henriëtte Jaarsma‑Adolfs Fund Scholarship, indicate this in the form (only one motivation letter required).
  5. Results announced by end of March 2027.
