Available Scholarships

University of Helsinki program for International Students in Finland

The scholarship opportunity is made available for various International students who wish to complete their master’s studies at Helsinki University in Finland. The scholarship award is awarded for a duration of two years in a full-time study option. The scholarship application deadline is set at December every year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must not be citizens from either the EU/EEA or Switzerland.
  • Applicants must be ready to take up a master’s degree program at the university.
  • Applicants must have to meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for study in Finland.
  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree with excellent results.
  • Applicants will be required to take TOEFL or IELTS test to show English language proficiency.

How to apply

  • Applicants are to find the master’s programme of choice in the university of Helsinki portal
  • Applicants are then to follow the instructions on how to apply to the Master’s programme and also attach the required supporting documents.
  • Applicants are to apply for a scholarship with the same application form used to apply to the Master’s programme.
  • Applicants are to ensure that they submit all the required documents before the application expiration date, otherwise, they risk been canceled.

Benefits and Value: The University of Helsinki Scholarship award is a fully-funded award of up to 10 000 EUR plus tuition fee Grant. Other available things the scholarship award covers are:

  • Full Tuition fee Grant
  • Student Union membership fee
  • Free or highly affordable health care services by the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS)
  • Student meal discounts in Unicafe restaurants
  • Reductions in public transport rates
  • Unisport services at low prices.

Donald and Barbara Mozley Scholarship

This scholarship is a partially funded scholarship that is made available for international students. Although, only US applicants are eligible for this scholarship.

Benefits and Value: The value of the Donald and Barbara Mozley scholarship is 5000 USD each year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be international students, mainly from the US.
  • Applicants must be ready to take up a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree program at the university.
  • Applicants will be required to take TOEFL or IELTS test to show English language proficiency.
