The University of East Anglia (UEA), in Norfolk, England, is a public research university. Established on a 320 acres (130 hectares) site west of the town centre in 1963, the University has four faculties and 26 research schools. The institution’s annual revenue for 2016–17 was £ 273.7 million, of which £ 35.6 million came from research grants and contracts, with £ 262.6 million in spending. The University is ranked 21st in the UK by The Complete University Guide as of 2020, 23rd by The Times and Sunday Times, and 30th by The Guardian as well.

There are two flagship scholarships offered by the University of East Anglia. These scholarship programs are open to international students from sub – Saharan Africa.

  1. UEA International Development Scholarships for International Students

The University of East Anglia is offering a full fee award may be offered to one international taught applicant based on academic excellence (e.g. first class degree) and their statement.

Field of Study: Masters Degree Courses offered by the School of international development

Target Group: International Students

Number of Scholarships and inclusions: One full fee may be offered

Eligibility Criteria: Depending on academic performance (e.g. first class degree) and a personal statement, the scholarships are awarded. All students are expected to have met the requirements for the English language of the School and to have been granted and accepted a place on the course by the time limit.

  1. International Development Excellence Scholarships for Sub – Saharan African Students

These scholarship awards are offered based on academic excellence and personal statement. Furthermore, it is valued at up to £7000.

Eligibility: Applicants eligible for consideration are students of Sub – Saharan African origin, which holds an offer to enroll for the 2020 Masters Degree program. It is also worthy of note that the scholarship is set up as a strategy for an international tuition fee reduction.
