Commonwealth Countries

The Commonwealth countries are made up of 53 independent and sovereign states. It is a voluntary organization made up of nearly all of the former territories of the British Empire. The member countries span Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe and the Pacific, and are amongst the world’s largest, smallest, richest and poorest countries. The Commonwealth is home to 2.4 billion citizens and 60% of these are under the age of 30. Over the years, the Commonwealth has become a network of more than 80 intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, civil society, cultural and professional organizations.

Botswana

Afya Bora Global Health Fellowships.

Eligibility: Be a citizen of Kenya, Botswana, Uganda or Tanzania; Medical applicants need to have an M.D or MBChB with an MMed, MPH or Master’s degree in related fields

Cameroon

Air Liquide International Scholarships in France.

Eligibility: Open to Nationals of Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal; Must be not more than 30 years of age; Not previously qualified for other scholarships from French Government; Show an interest in the Air Liquide Group.

The Gambia

African Pathway Scholarships.

Eligibility: Nationals of the Gambia and other non-South African citizens (Africa only); Master’s Degree holder; Academic Merit; A feasible proposed a research project.

Ghana

Africa Initiative for Governance Scholarships.

Eligibility: Graduates must be between 25 and 35 years of age; Exceptional academic history; Nationals of Ghana and Nigeria.

Kenya

ACCES Scholarship Program.

Eligibility: Kenya Youths; Bright students with Financial neediness.

Lesotho

African Students Scholarships, Brandeis University.

Eligibility: Nationals of Angola, Lesotho, Madagascar, South Africa and other Southern African countries.

Malawi

African Fellowship at Royal Agricultural University, UK.

Eligibility: Nationals of East and Southern Africa; Candidates with a background in Agriculture, Food or Natural Resources Management; Interest in Land Reforms.

Mauritius

African Nursing Scholarships.

Eligibility: Registered Nurses; Completion of the application form and other relevant documents.

Mozambique

Emerging Leaders Scholarships.

Eligibility: Applicants must be from the private sector in business, management, entrepreneurship and banking sector: For candidates from Mozambique and other selected countries.

Namibia

CODESRIA Research Grants.

Eligibility: Researchers based in African Universities willing to undertake priority researches with themes within the framework of the CODESRIA strategic plan.

Nigeria

African Development Bank Internship Program.

Eligibility: Be students between 18-30 years old; Must be enrolled for a Master’s degree in recognized Institutions; Be citizens of ADB member countries; Be fluent in English or French.

India

Newton Fund Researcher Workshop Grants for Researchers in India and UK.Eligibility: Lead researchers from state or central Universities in India or the UK.

Malaysia

Malaysian Commonwealth Scholarships.

Eligibility: Citizens of the commonwealth countries; Graduate of a University; Second class upper honors.

Canada

Humber Scholarships in Canada for International Students.

Eligibility: Applicants will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters and Statement of Interest.
