Studying in the Middle East and North Africa
Countries like Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and so on, offer significant diversity and exposure to foreign policy issues important to world affairs. There are funded studies and research programmes in the Middle East and North African countries for international students.
The people of the Middle East and North Africans live a remote life of taking care of their families, writing, doing school work, playing, and so on. Similarly, they are very hospitable which attracts foreigners to them.
Scholarships around the World for Students from the middle East and North Africa
The scholarship program is made available to some select student leaders with a fully-funded scholarship towards the completion of a Master’s or Doctoral study. In addition, the scholarship is administered by the Institute of International Education.
The value of the scholarship varies but includes tuition fee, living expenses, books, computer, housing, travel and enrichment activities.
The Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program is made available by the US Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and AMIDEAST. Students who wish to apply for the scholarship must have the potential to become leaders and must be from an underprivileged background.
The benefit of the scholarship includes four-year tuition fees, travel, accident and sickness insurance, travel abroad experience, housing and a monthly stipend.
The scholarship is awarded to students from the Middle East and North Africa who are pursuing any course, except Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Sheffield.
The scholarship is a partial-funding up to the tune of 50%.
Scholarships in the Middle East and North African Countries
The Boren scholarships awards funding to undergraduate students of the USA who wish to study abroad in remote areas that are very relevant to US interests and developing countries of the world.
The scholarships awarded are up to the maximum amount of $800, 000 for special initiative STEM students who wish to study for summer programmes; $10,000 per semester and $20,000 for an academic year.
After graduation, Boren Scholars are required to commit to working for at least one year in the federal government.
The institute provides a fully-funded scholarship for intensive-based language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences for seven to ten weeks. This is available for undergraduate and postgraduate citizens of USA. The host countries include some selected countries of the Middle East and North Africa where the targeted languages are spoken.
The MENAR Fellowship Programme offers a one year post-graduation fellowships for top graduates of American colleges at top universities in the Middle East and North Africa. The fellows must be able to forge a bridge between the US and the host region, as well as help in the development of the region through experiencing challenges faced by the region and the potential it holds.
The MENA/MSP offers scholarships to individuals from ten different countries which can be used for short courses with a duration up to 89 days in the Netherlands. It is funded by the Dutch government.
The programme allocates 50% of the scholarships to female applicants.
Benefits of the Scholarship
The scholarship is not fully-funded and does not cover all costs. The value of the scholarship depends on the duration of the programme at the University of Twente.
