The ETSU International Merit Scholarships are designed for new degree-seeking international students admitted to undergraduate or graduate programs. Awards are automatically considered during admission — no separate scholarship application is required.

Which Fields are Eligible?

  • Undergraduate Programs across all disciplines.
  • Graduate Programs (Master’s and Doctoral).
  • Excludes M.D. and PharmD programs.

  • Be international students admitted to ETSU as degree-seeking students.
  • Hold or plan to hold an F-1 or J-1 visa.
  • Meet GPA requirements:
    • Freshman: 3.0 GPA in high school.
    • Transfer: 3.0 GPA in previous university coursework.
    • Graduate: 3.0 GPA in undergraduate coursework.
  • Not be applying for a second Bachelor’s degree from ETSU.
  • Not be paying in-state or E-Rate tuition.

How are Applicants Selected?

  • Automatically considered during admission based on GPA.
  • Must maintain eligibility requirements each semester to continue receiving the scholarship.
