The Futuremakers Women in Tech (WiT) Uganda Program is a transformative initiative led by Standard Chartered Foundation in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank, Village Capital, and The Innovation Village, and implemented by Future Lab. Designed to empower women-led, tech and tech-enabled businesses, this program aims to bridge the gender gap in Ugandaโ€™s tech industry by fostering inclusive economic growth. It offers business training, mentorship, seed funding, and access to a supportive ecosystem, helping women entrepreneurs scale their innovations and drive economic resilience in marginalized communities.

Who can Apply for the Futuremakers Women in Tech Uganda Program?

Also, the eligibility criteria include:

  • Women-led businesses with at least one female co-founder actively involved full-time.
  • Legally incorporated and operating in Uganda.
  • Small-scale businesses employing fewer than 10 people and with an annual turnover of less than USD 100,000.
  • Business should be in the market validation phase, with a minimum viable product (MVP) and some form of traction such as revenue, user adoption, pilots, or partnerships.
  • Must be tech-based or tech-enabled.
  • Must align with at least one SDG.

How are Applicants Selected?

  • Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted between June 2 โ€“ June 4, 2025.
  • Final interviews and selection will be conducted on June 5 โ€“ June 6, 2025.
  • Selected participants will be announced on June 11, 2025.
