The CICOPS Scholarship is a fully funded program offered by the University of Pavia and EDiSU (Institute of the Right to University Studies) to promote international cooperation with developing countries.
It supports visiting scholars for short-term research collaboration (4–12 weeks) at the University of Pavia. The program encourages mobility of researchers from developing countries and fosters academic partnerships.

Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Reside in a World Bank low-income, lower-middle, or upper-middle income economy.
- Hold a PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) by the application deadline.
- Be employed for at least two years by a university, higher education institution, public/non-profit research centre, or intergovernmental/international institution.
- Demonstrate recent research activity with at least two authored scientific publications.
- Not be enrolled in a doctoral/postgraduate course at an Italian university.
How are Candidates Selected?
- Based on academic qualifications, research proposal, publications, and motivation.
- Applicants must secure an invitation letter from a professor/researcher at the University of Pavia before applying.
- Applications without an invitation letter are automatically rejected.
