The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training awards scholarships to outstanding students from all over the world for Master’s programmes in Flanders and Brussels. A Master Mind Scholarship includes a grant of €10,000 and a tuition fee waiver per academic year. Also, the Master Mind Scholarships are a highly competitive opportunity. Who can Apply For The Master Mind Ku Leven Scholarship in Belgium?
Also, all candidates must fulfil all conditions to be eligible:
- The applicant must apply for a master’s program at a Flemish higher education institution.
- The applicant should demonstrate high academic performance with a GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0.
- English language proficiency is required:
- Minimum IELTS score of 7.0, TOEFL score of 94, or C1 level on the CEFR.
- For arts programs: Minimum IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL score of 90, or B2 level on the CEFR.
- Online language tests (IELTS Indicator and TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition) are accepted.
- The host institution will perform an academic review, and applicants must be accepted by the institution to receive the scholarship.
- Applicants can only be nominated by one Flemish institution; if preselected by multiple, they must choose one.
- Applicants from all nationalities, except Russian, can apply, provided their previous degree is from outside Flanders.
- Students enrolled in Flemish institutions are ineligible, except those in preparatory programs for a master’s starting September 2024.
- Programs not eligible include preparatory, bridging, and distance learning programs.

Additionally, this scholarship offers the following benefits:
- Scholarship holders receive a full tuition fee waiver and pay only a small annual administration fee.
- For reference, the 2023-2024 administration fee was €131.50; the 2025-2026 fee will be announced in December 2024.
- Recipients are awarded an annual allowance of €10,000 for up to two academic years.
How Long Will the Award Last?
The duration of the scholarship is one academic year for a 60 ECTS Master’s programme and two academic years for a 120 ECTS Master’s programme.

- Submit a complete application file for an eligible Master’s programme before 15 January 2025, 23.59 CET, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form as an annexe. This annexe should be uploaded in the application tool under document type “Annexe “.

- Step 2: Register your Master Mind candidacy via the online registration tool before 15 January 2025, 23.59 CET. The registration tool for 2025-2026 will be opened on 17 October 2024.
