The Excellence Scholarships for International Students (PBEEE), funded by the Quebec Research Fund (FRQ) and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, aim to attract top foreign researchers and students to Quebec. Who can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be international students (not Canadian citizens or permanent residents).
- Meet programme-specific requirements:
- Master’s: Not more than 3 full-time terms completed by May 1 following the deadline.
- Doctorate: Not more than 9 full-time terms completed by May 1 following the deadline.
- Postdoctoral: PhD obtained within 2 years before competition deadline; research must be conducted at a different institution from where PhD was earned.
- Short-term Research: PhD obtained within 5 years before deadline; research or professional development must be conducted at a different institution.
How are Candidates Selected?
- Pre-selection by universities, CCTT network, or CSC.
- Evaluation by FRQ committees based on academic excellence, research potential, and alignment with program objectives.
