Meta/Africa No Filter Future Africa Program 2022: Are you a storyteller who has worked with 360 video, augmented,virtual, or mixed reality? Are you interested in using immersive technologies to tell your African story?

Tell Me About Meta/Africa No Filter Future Africa Program:

Africa No Filter, in partnership with Electric South, Imisi 3D and Meta, invites Extended Reality Creators to apply for grants of up to $30,000 to support the production and development of new content. In a bid to support a thriving XR Ecosystem, Africa No Filter will be commissioning work which uses immersive technology to tell exciting stories about Africa. Grantees will be supported with on-going mentorship and production support by Electric South and will also have the opportunity to showcase their projects in a virtual or in-person showcase.

Africa No Filter (ANF) is a donor collaborative that supports the development of nuanced and contemporary stories that shift stereotypical and harmful narratives within and about Africa.

Who can apply for Meta/Africa No Filter Future Africa Program?

  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be living on the continent and be of African descent
  • Must have previous experience with  XR content creation and at least 1 completed XR project
  • Must have a portfolio of work accessible online
  • Proposed project must be completed within 6 months
  • Applicant must be available on the dates below if selected

Selected Grantees will also be invited to virtually attend Electric South’s Creators Lab  in February 2022.
