Yale University 2019 ISTF Leadership Award in Forestry (Funded to Conference at Yale University, USA)
The Yale chapter of the International Society of Tropical Foresters will bestow its 5th Annual Prize – now called the Leadership Award – not only to acknowledge outstanding initiatives but also to highlight significant contributions in leading resiliency in the context of socio-ecological disturbances.

About the Award: In line with the theme for the 2019 ISTF Conference, we are looking for innovative examples of resilience for tropical landscapes and their people. We are considering approaches, experiences, or efforts of individuals, groups or organizations that demonstrates resilience to a recent (last 10 years) transformation, transgression, or disturbance. All individuals or groups with a unique perspective, experience, or approach to resilience in the face of changes to tropical landscape are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility: Applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Innovative approaches being tested or implemented
- Contributes meaningful lessons for further understanding resilience
- Relevance to this year’s overarching conference theme
- Demonstrated leadership in your field, community, or context.
- Clear and compelling presentation of ideas
Number of Awards: 2
Value of Award: The Innovation Prize winner and runner-up will both be invited to Yale to present their project to conference attendees and receive a cash prize.
Duration of Program: Conference date is January 31 – February 2, 2019
