University of Pretoria Vice-Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellowship for International Students 2017
The University of Pretoria invites applications from excellent doctoral graduates to apply for the Vice-Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellowships at the University.

Field of Study: The focus is on international candidates, in particular, who are interested in research fields that are of strategic priority to the University. These include: biological sciences, data sciences, economics and business sciences, energy, engineering, food security, genomics, health sciences, humanities and social sciences, and sustainable development.
About the Award: These fellowships enable recent doctoral graduates to join the University as postdoctoral researchers, and to develop their research skills and academic careers through participation in the University’s areas of research strength and strategic priorities. The fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis and the previous achievements of candidates will be important criteria in identifying suitable fellows, as will the alignment of candidates’ research interests with identified institutional research priorities.
Eligibility: Applications are particularly invited from international postdoctoral candidates with research interest and expertise in these fields listed above.
Applications should be accompanied by a comprehensive curriculum vitae and applicants should submit a letter of motivation (2 pages) describing their research achievements and expertise, and their objectives related to the postdoctoral fellowship. By reference to the University of Pretoria website, candidates should identify the research programme in which they wish to be appointed. Applications should be supported by two letters of reference that can attest to the candidate’s academic and research interests (e.g. the candidate’s doctoral supervisor), and the suitability of his/her research experience with respect to the field selected for postdoctoral research.
