Brief description: The Department of Accountancy, Economics and Finance is offering a small number of scholarships in the areas of Accountancy and Finance to to international students at the start of the academic year 2016-17.

About the Award: The award will be given to intending PhD students who are interested in studying Accountancy and Finance at the University this Fall. Successful students will be required to choose from a list of potential supervisors with the general areas in which they are willing to supervise PhDs, plus, in some cases, (i) the more specific issues/questions they are willing to supervise within those areas, and/or (ii) one or more particular projects on which they would be willing to supervise PhDs.
Eligibility: Short listed applicants must have the equivalent of a 1st class honours undergraduate degree, or a Masters degree with an average mark of 65% or higher and a dissertation mark of 65% or higher. Applicants who are unsure if their qualifications meet the minimum criteria should contact the School’s PhD Administrator to discuss their application.
Selection Criteria: All applications will be reviewed within the relevant department with a shortlisting decision made based on qualifications, the research proposal and the availability of a supervisory team.

Value of Scholarship: Successful candidates will be expected to make a contribution to activities in the Department in return for a fee-waiver, a maintenance allowance which is currently set at £14,296 for the year 2016-17 and a research support allowance of £2,250 over the registered period of study.
Duration of Scholarship: three (3) years
