The University of Pretoria (UP) invites UP academic researchers to apply for Postdoctoral Fellowships at the University of Pretoria. The fellowships are aimed at enabling academic reseachers to conduct research in areas aligned with UP’s priorities, especially those that are related to UP institutional platforms such as Future Africa, the UP Javett Art Centre, and others.

About the Award: Applications will be submitted by UP researchers who wish to host postdoctoral fellows, and act as their supervisors. Only international candidate postdoctoral fellows will be eligible for these fellowships.

- Candidates must have obtained their doctoral degree no more than five years ago (from 1 August 2019) and must be under 40 years of age at the time of submitting the application.
- International postdoctoral fellow candidates only are eligible for this
call. - Please note: No application will be considered after the closing date: 31 July 2019.

Value and Duration of Award: The value of each postdoctoral fellowship will be R200 000 per year for a period of two years. At the end of the first year, the fellowship will be renewed subject to submission of a satisfactory progress report, to the Department of Research and Innovation (DRI). At the end of the twoyear fellowship, a final report will be submitted to DRI.
